Who We Are

The Military Order of the World Wars (MOWW) is a patriotic, non-profit, nonpartisan service organization of commissioned military officers, past and present. MOWW was established in 1919 to support the welfare of our nation. MOWW is widely respected throughout all branches of the government and the military. With numerous chapters nationwide, our motto holds that "It is nobler to serve than to be served." 

The West Valley (Arizona) Chapter 131 was chartered in 1971.  The chapter conducts regular meetings monthly from October through May on the second Saturday.  The meeting includes breakfast, the MOWW Preamble, introductions of special guests, guest speaker presentations, and updates on chapter business and outreach programs.  Our meetings adhere to our overall purpose of promoting patriotic education, good citizenship, and service to our country.

Specifically, the chapter supports 17 local JROTC units in the Phoenix West Valley. Each year we sponsor a number of cadets to attend the Arizona Youth Leadership Conference (AZYLC).  In addition, we present awards at JROTC, ROTC, and Scouting awards ceremonies.  The Chapter also hosts a colorful patriotic event known as the Massing of the Colors and Service of Remembrance.  This public memorial event is free and held in February or March of each year.
